Nokia N8 Review
Nokia N8 ranks as the first device to introduce the new Symbian ^3 operating system. This flagship device from Nokia has a far superior camera with 12 Megapixel and offers excellent HD video recording c
apabilities.
So similar to Apple iPhone4, Nokia N8 stands out for its notable powerful camera, with a large sensor, xenon flash and Carl Zeiss optics. This means that the Smartphone is able to take photos of excellent quality – superior colour balance and accurate focusing – just like an ordinary digital camera. The touch screen takes the most space on its facia and although the Smartphone has just about the same dimensions as the iPhone 4, it is notably thicker.
The phone also comes with an aluminium casing and anodised paint to curb the effects of scratches on the body of the phone. Nokia N8 comes with an AMOLED screen which is notably bright even though the resolution is relatively lesser than that of the iPhone4. One exciting feature of the Smartphone is the ability to switch between the three home screens using your finger. While previous phones running on the previous versions of the Symbian operating system had a notable sluggishness, Nokia N8 is remarkably responsive to one’s touch.
The Symbian^3 is yet to overcome several challenges that frequently face its use including occasional hang ups and switching off. Don’t be surprised then if your Nokia N8 Smartphone, even with all the exciting features, occasionally crashes.
As for entertainment the Nokia N8 Smartphone comes with an FM radio with RDS and the media player is as well superior, offering relatively nice video playback. If accessing the media files from the internet, you can enjoy the streaming capabilities of this Smartphone. The 3G capabilities of Nokia N8 also provide notably high download speeds of up to 10.2 Mbps. The Smartphone also comes with Wi-Fi capabilities. As for audio, the device plays excellent quality output either through the main speaker or the 3.5 mm headphone jack. If you would rather play the music on your home theatre, you can use the HDMI connection.
You can as well access Facebook and twitter on the Smartphone using the social networking app that comes built in. It is arguable that Nokia N8 is so far the best Nokia phone to have ever been released with its superior hardware, great internet connectivity, easier access to Ovi store, and impressively powerful camera. As for the pricing, it is relatively competitive.
