Apple Makes Movies On iTunes

iTunes, legal download platform for Apple, since this morning includes the purchase and rental of films in France.

Since this morning, Friday, April 30th, iTunes, legal download platform Apple has a new feature: the buying and renting movies to watch on his computer, iPhone, iPod Touch or Apple TV (HD).

Almost two years (May 2008) after starting downloading TV programs via agreements signed with TF1, M6, Canal +, etc.. Apple completes its video offering in France with the film. “We signed with all the Hollywood studios and with Studio Canal, Pathe and the DSS,” said Oliver Schusser, senior director, iTunes Europe.

For the launch, between 500 and 600 films will be available for sale and rent, but that number should quickly move to several thousands in the coming months. Side Prices will oscillate
between 7.99 euro for a film catalog, EUR 9.99 for a recent film and 13.99 euros for a major innovation. It will be possible to copy and watch it, other than through the iTunes player or on a terminal Apple (iPhone etc..).

Upon rental, the price is 3.99 euros and 2.99 euros a novelty for a “classic”. The film can then be viewed within 30 days after downloading. After viewing starts, it will remain available for 48 hours. The time for the movie buff, to make a whole movie.
